Hi, I am new to the RED forum (well, relatively new) and we got our RED Scarlet on Monday. Two days later, and we have the lenses as well. All has been unboxed and assembled. Now the fun begins - coming from a Panasonic AF101 to Scarlet X - well, kind of like from black to white! So, just thought I would introduce myself to the forum as I start the journey into RED territory! Cheers, Pierre Devereux

Welcome Pierre!

Give yourself time to play with the camera and make sure you figure out what can be user error versus what's a 'lemon issue', before you have your first gig. Red cameras are not like a regular camera. They are constantly being upgraded software and hardware. Much like a PC or Mac, there will be some 'blue screens of death' and the 'odd quirky' moments. Knowing that, and you'll understand that the new features continually get added far outweigh simply a working tool that becomes obsolete with 'a new feature new model'.

Plus how many other camera companies have a cool forum to share and learn. Enjoy.
