  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

In all seriousness, I saw this ad somewhere online before I saw your post here. When I first saw it, I thought "Wow, that must have taken a while to shoot. Few days, a week, more maybe." To then read how it was actually made was pretty great. Surprising. And great.
 
Over 100 million views in a week! In fact, the agency reports that the spot is going to be most viewed commercial on youtube in history. Crazy... Stratch one mark down for Dragon cameras!!!

You should see this on Turkish TVs.Its on every channel.Everybody is talking about this commercial in Turkey! Congrats
 
Yes James, if you go back and read the first post in this thread, I go into great detail of how I shot it... Probably more detail than if I was just an AC for example...

And now with over 110 million views, this spot just became the most watched commercial in YouTube history!

Oh I was't questioning you, I apologize if it sounded as such. I'd be excited if you CamOped or ACd it as well, just ultra impressed with your work and wanted to commend you accordingly.

May I ask how you went about the scuba diving shot? Also, I really love the airport shot on Kobe (the pan from below). How did you light this? I get a similar look with a couple 251'd kinos positioned as kickers and then a redhead aimed up and bouncing down from a bb for some face lift / eye light (though I'm assuming your shot was with HMIs / daylight balanced), but not with the same soft cheekbone contrast you were able to get. I don't know if this is from Kobe's well defined features in general (lol) or some great color correction, but I'm guessing you just have some tricks I've yet to learn.

Really great work, boss. Congratulations on the well deserved acclaim and recognition its received, it really is beautiful.
