  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Toronto RED

I like to attend the meeting. I have reserved the camera in April this year with all lenses. While ago I have sent Bro PM offering my studio as meeting place. Offer still stands. I will throw in sushi if people are interested.

Hi Shin, we'll hold RED-Meet 03 at PS, but your offer of sushi at your studio is very tempting. We may take you up on that offer for a subsequent Meet.

Shin, if my Red does actually arrive in Novemeber I may just make your studio its home-away-from-home if you have sushi. Add sake to the mix and who knows the possiblities. You see, I have this weekend moto - every Saturday is Sake-night-in-Canada!

Sushi sounds great! Let's do that sooner rather than later.

I'd definitely be up for attending a meeting, if my lack of experience would not be a hindrance (I'd just like to sit and listen :-)).

Hi Shin,

I'm not surprised you are interested considering the animals you shoot so regularly.
Good to see you on the board.

J.

Likewise, happy to see you here Shin. You and I had a brief chat about Red during a Toyota bid early this year. I didn't realise you were getting one. Shin + Red will be a formidable combination, I predict. Exciting.

Ian,

We might want to alter the list. It has been suggested to me that discussing workflow is not something that a "pro DP" would be interested in, as workflows might be a bit of a proprietary Thing that DP's want to keep personal.

So maybe to be more inclusionary and to attract real DP's we should lay off the idea of "sharing".

DAVID

Hi David, I hear you.
But that was a fabulous idea you had, which would be of value to all of us. If pro DPs feel protective of their IP that's cool.
Perhaps we should reword it to "contributions welcome".

***Agenda post edited to reflect that. Is that wording ok?***

Sounds good Ian. I think to start out we should sent a clear message that the idea is to have people collaborating and forming a loose professional network.

I am a producer as well so it's also just good for me to meet new and talented people all the time. I am not interested in getting together to "steal" from each other. I just think it's nice to meet people face to face and find a way to be professional rather than protectionist.

David

Hi All,
So this sounds great. I'm excited to meet everyone at Toronto Red Group and contribute to this exciting turn in the history of capturing moving images. Is there an address to be had where this meeting is taking place?
Cheers
Tony

I'm also keen to participate in a test shoot or meeting. When and where?

I am interested in the post and colour side of the process. I'd also like to take some footage and try some 3D tracking.
