  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

To buy red touch or not

I haven't used foolcontrol yet, but I originally tried to save money on my old Scarlet Dragon kit by using a 3rd party monitor + a REDmote. Definitely wasn't worth it.

I would always have a RED touch screen, even if it's not your main monitor.
The ability to quickly tap the screen to get to settings and do everything you needed will save you lots of time.

Hello
I have both. You definitely want the red touch.
The app is great but not as quick as the monitor and if you have any wifi issues you will be in trouble

Regards

Hey it’s a bit of a shameless plug, but I have a RED Pro Touch 5.0 monitor I’m about to list for sale. Excellent condition, no scratches or dings or screen issues. Works with all DSMC and DSMC2 cameras. PM me if interested, will be dropping it in the for sale section here as soon as I grab a picture along with all the other bits and bobs I’m clearing out.

I can't number the times I have had to plug in my Red Touch monitor to just speed up the process of getting through the menus or having that reassurance of everything is adjustable as expected.
You can go with out for sure, but I for one would always have some sort of Red Touch in the kit just incase everything is not working I can pull that out and know it should communicate with the camera.
