So I've owned a 5dm2 for a few years and have shot lots of stuff with it, when I heard the scarlet was coming out, I had to pull the trigger. After helping on a few shoots with R1, I was sold. Here is what I think so far.

The quality is impecable. I mean literally mind blowing. Every piece has been given the proper care and attention and I thank RED for that.

The monitor is beautiful and love the ease of the touch screen. Having it be a seperate unit with 1/4 20 screws i can machine some stuff and mount that little bastard anywhere i damn well please. I love it.

The body is light and solid all at once and the level of ease of navigating the menus is much more efficient than the R1 is. Its very maneuverable and a joy to hold. Can be on a full rig or just the body and lens and I can control with the REDmote. its fantastic.

My only complaint is that my REDmote enter button wont depress and makes it hard to make selections.

Image quality and workflow is something that leaves my head spinning. its so crisp and clean and the latitude is so damn amazing. I ran through red cine x, made prores files with ease, ran them into fcp and then to color and they hold up so well and I can manipulate so much more even with just prores 1080 files.

I was a little apprehensive after my buy just because it was such an investment and I was unaware of the workflow, but now that i have had it a few days, I'm 100% sold on everything. Best birthday present ever. and now i have something i can offer my clients to set me above a few of the others in my tiny community in the pacific northwest.

Its a professional tool and you can tell, it has everything that my 5d lacked. It has all the things ive wished for in a camera.

Just want to thank RED for making someting incredible that is within reach of the average guy that busts his ass for art and making a living at it in this crazy economy.

Glad to be amongst the ranks of some of the greatest camera men in the world. Its like the RED knights templar.

Congrats to all who got their hands on this gem of a camera.

Congratulations, Domenic! It really is a beautiful camera. I am glad that you are so pleased with it. Good luck with your shooting and please share some of your work once you have some that you're prepared to put online.
