Since REDCINE-X is still in alpha and not supported... here is the thread you guys can post problems/bugs... your peers may be able to help. We will chime in as possible.

No crash reports till we start asking for them..

Hey Jarred,

Could you create a forum topic to consolidate all the RedRocket stuff? That'd certainly be helpful. Right now I dont know where to look!

Hi Jarred,
this is maybe not a bug, but a little problem: the tool sliders are for my taste too small and jump sometimes in the opposite direction (Also hard to see if I got hold on it ). I know, I can use the numeric way to change values, but to start a correction I prefer fine reacting sliders.
BTW will the beta have a 1/1 preview or is 1/16 to 1/2 the limit?
Sometimes its getting very slow. I guess its the full cache memory. Any way to empty it? (Yes, I don´t have RR yet).
Thanks for this great application!

we will get to 1/1... 1/2 is the limit right now thanks Mark.

The slow down bug is being sorted.. Final Alpha should be done tomorrow.

Hi Jarred,

First of all a big congratulation to all of you in Red. I tried for the first time the Redcine X Alpha (6) and it is fabulous. I do not have the RR yet but I am wondering about a few small points.! 1) Why I am always out of sync ?? 2) Why the pointers of all the values are not so sensitive as the old Redcine even the curve???? 3) Do I need the RR to play at least real time in 1/2 resolution ??? Thanks and thanks again.

Well its me again.... I forgot the three small function bottons at the top of the Timeline.
4) What are they are doing???? Thanks.

Nicos

I would also like to start out be expressing my gratitude for launching such a great application!

Bug: When playing back a clip and navigating forwards and backwards (using j-k-l), the sound seems to continue playing forward and eventually finishes long before the clip does. I'm on the latest alpa (1520) running on a MacBook Pro with 10.6.

Currently you cannot modify a Render preset that you have previously made.

Specifically it would be great to be able to modify the output folder easily, as this is the one item that will change for every job.

Thanks

oh and you can also press H to get help in the program to see some common commands.

Does Redcine-X support RedRocket, i have rocket cinex and the footage plays back real time, but with the redcine x i am getting 7fps?

Robert, there is a icon in your playback window that looks like a Rocketship. I believe you have to click on that in order to get your RR working with Redcine-X. Then again, I don't have a RR so don't take my word for it. =] Good Luck.

I have a Red Rocket and it definitely supports it.

Make sure you don't have the detail window (loupe) open as it kills performance big time.
Also, the earlier alpha of RCX quickly loses contact with the RR, but the latest alpha is pretty solid with it.

Last night i had 25fps on one clip for a few minutes, then that went. Today again i have 7fps, half debayer. I have the latest version, the rocket runs fine in RocketCine X, i don't kow what to do, i tried re-installing Redcine-X and re-installing the Red rocket card. No luck.

Whenever I attempt to load a long clip (45 min) onto the timeline I get some strange garbage thumbnails that will show up as the film strip on the timeline.
Then after a minute or two it will crash the program.

It appears that it's happening while attempting to link all the .r3ds together for playback from a given folder.

Strange bug found today:
We got ours today (1st day of shooting; just in the nick of time) and are having some issues with multitasking to an onboard sata card (we're trying to run rocket renders & shotput r3d magazines at the same time; although they're going to different drives on the same sata card; it still wants to kick off the render drive if shotput is already running)

So now we're rendering across the network & i've never seen dailies look this good, this fast!

Any idea what's causing rocketcine to crash the drives or vice versa depending on what's accessing the drive first? I'm going to post this in rocketcine forums as well!

RCX looks nice, and such a pleasure to see what build 21 footages really look like.

Possible bug: Running the Windows version in XP64 and not able to export stills nor DPXs. When exporting DPXs, the batch window opens and the computer processes something, percentages are shown in the batch window but only one DPX file is stored on the disk. Is this a XP64 issue which disappears when update to Windows7?

scaling and cropping seem to have gone for the moment in RCX. I have several files shot 4.5 (4480x1920) which need some geometry adjustments - are geometry changes going to be reinstated at some point? Please
