The Best 50 Bucks

I just finished reading Steve Hulfish's book "Color Correction for Video," and I have to say that it was one of the best 50 bucks I have ever spent.

The book teaches you how to properly color correct video using FCP, Apple's Color, After Effects, Premier, and Avid.

The book covers:

• Proper use and application of wave form monitors and vector scopes
  
• Primary and secondary grading techniques
  
• Aesthetic approaches and considerations
  
• Fixing problematic footage
  
• Matching Shots
  
• And deep insight into the process.

I decided to learn more about grading, so I could improve the image quality of my rd3 renders. After read you the book, I recommend loading Red's NAB demo reel into a software package with scopes and studying the wave forms. You will learn a lot.

My footage is definitely looking better, so this is a great investment.
