Im interested in this device and would be great to head from any one having a chance to use it for real yet.

I can completely see the benefits but Im wondering why camera manufacturers Havant built in the shutter ramping function in to Digital cameras yet.

Hi, Dave. The Tessive shutter has been used in a number of productions and test shoots since we introduced it in June. Hopefully soon we'll start seeing some of that getting public viewing. Until then, we're working on getting more demo footage available, and we will work with anyone who is serious about trying out the Time Filter to get one into their hands to test. If you've got an application in mind, please contact us and we'll work with you.

Also, we have a Blu-ray disc available with a better view of the demo footage if you are interested. Just contact us and we'll ship one out. You can always give us a call if you would like to talk about a specific application or to find out how to get your hands on a system.

Don't Know if thats stupid, but when I sawthe Video explaining how the filter works I had to think of an adjustable ND Filter. Would be really handy to just carry one Filter that you could gradually change the intensity, and would speed up the workflow if you want to shoot with a fixed stop in changing lighting conditions

Tony, could this be used as an ND filter on a still camera? It would be like a adjustable ND filter although you could do live changes.
Very cool if it works.
Can you answer this please. I may have an app for it. IF it can work like Im thinking.

Russ,

The system is physically capable of variable ND for a still camera, but that's not part of its normal operation. If you have a custom application, contact me and we can work something out. It would be a firmware change to get the current model to work that way, but not a hard one.

We are planning variable ND along with the dynamic shuttering as an update to the current model already (pushed out to existing users, of course), but that's specifically for motion applications, not still.

Tony
