  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I was thinking of getting step up rings from 77mm to 82mm for all my Canon lens to match my 16 by 35 L lens. My matte box is already 82mm. Or does it make senses to step down my one lens from 82mm to 77mm and get a 77mm part for my matte box?

I also was thinking of putting either clear screw on filters to protect my glass, or perhaps UV filters.

My final purchase is a formatt hot mirror IRND 4 by 5.6. I am thinking .6, or .9 as I already have a full set of schneider 4 by 4 ND filters, .3, .6, .9, 1.2. I figure I can double stack if I need more ND, with the hot mirror in front of course.

Does this make sense? Or is there better solutions? I can't afford to by a complete set of IRND right now.

What Matte box are you using?

I have a Cavision I bought for my HVX200a. I am going to mount this to components I am getting from Berkey Systems. I want to have the camera sitting on my shoulder.
