Besides the physical shape of these two types of lenses, is there anything else different between these two types of lenses?

From my experience round fronts tend to be sharper and have far far less breathing to them. However, they tend to be a bit pricier.

What do you mean by 'breathing'?

The square fronts exhibit more of the classic anamorphic artifacts than the round fronts. Breathing is referring to breathing when focusing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breathing_(lens)

The roundfronts are newer and have better coatings, optics, and mechanics. There were also a wider range of focal lengths available in the RF group, including some rare superspeed RFs.
