Sound info?

We will be out shooting at Burning Man.

We will have two cameras rolling Build 16.

What do I need to know about sound problems? does sound right in work? does phantom power not work? do only certain channels work? Does audio not show up in Redcine? FCP?

We will have a Rode NTG-2 (this has a AA battery so does not need the phantom power)

What recorders/mixers have been successful? Will a Zoom H4 or H2 work? Anyone use the Tascam HD-P2 CF?

Which headphones do people use? noise canceling?

Actually, I am interested in this query as well.

In particular is there a problem specifically with phantom power or generally with mic level input? Can you get an acceptable signal from the NTG -2 (which does not require phantom powering)?
