Hi,

I'm new to the Red game I know a little but not nearly as much as I'd like some of these questions may seem stupid but...meh.

First of all...

In Red Alert what is the reason for exporting a single Tiff? Surely if you've done a colour correction and want to show the DP you'd show the clip itself.

What is a DPX file, is that your final master if you were doing say a feature film?

What is the actual purpose of Red Rushes can someone break it down for me in simple terms and how it relates to RA and Red Cine?

The different colour spaces like RedSpace Camera RGB and Rec709. Which is the true one and what is the purpose of the others?

What is the difference in FCP between editing with the proxies and transcoding the Red files to Pro Res 422

Very probably more dumb questions to follow, thanks.

Post it on RedUser? Take it into Photoshop to play around with it?

DPX is a standard format for uncompressed images. Most grading and compositing packages can handle DPX sequences, so you could use it for a feature film master.

I'm not sure, but I think RedRushes is just a tool for easily batch converting a large number of R3D files to another format. Say if you wanted to convert a few hundred or thousand red files to smaller Quicktime files to do an offline edit.
