  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Soderbergh's 'Unsane' shot with an iPhone - great story, not sure about the image

Sounds like a great marketing stunt, not unlike 28 days later and it being shot with a Canon XL1. Maybe his next phone project will be with a certain Hydrogen...

Did you see the monstrous setups they had on those XL1, and the result was.not great.

I just watched the trailer Karim. You are right. There is an adaptor put there they used some zeis lens on (or was that their lens setup) fir a short film last year or so. That looked nice. But I wonder if you can use dual.camwra boketh affect in this camera, and also to iron out the ballooning you get from shoe distances.

I don't imagine the director was doing this to save a few dollars, but maybe to demonstrate. It's a struggle. You can get a nice little 720p sensor in a camera for nice results, but wuthout a descent lens, or multipoint, it's going to struggle.

Now, vizzygig has interesting datarates and others have demonstrated a reasonable control of image. The tools are out there, but the phones are not so much there. LG v30 made an attempt on the android side, but a lot of other android stuff is not so great. The issues are low datarate, orientation to 4:2:0 and odd frame rates like 30p, and shrinking sensors. Seems that the technology allows sensor size to shrink and offer similar performance to last year instead of getting serious with 2/3rds or 1 inch sensors. Also, the lens systems and controls. A multipoint system can probably iron out the lens image from smaller sensors, but in reality it is a joke. Monochrome and color differing lens) cameras and such forth instead of concentrating on 4+ multipoint which gives you surround sampling fir bokeh and more precise 3D napping of the scene. A phone just came out with three sensors in a row. How useful is that? Couldn't they at least made a triangle to get better post effects? The latest pixel has just given up on the visual gait of the eye, with internal dual pixels to do 3D. I rejected such schemes years ago, as you got a very narrow spread of view shift around objects, and unlike 65mm plus human vision.
