The pictures tell the story. Now it is possible to place two cameras less than 4" apart.

Comments welcome.

I get it!

With some small primes you might get down to a 3" IO on a side by side! Have you measured? That would be a great accessory for someone to make (Brooke?) I would buy one.

Thanks for sharing! Dig it!

Prost,
Rich

Nice hack! Waiting for a side-by-side solution from Red. Or anyone...

Nice!
Something to do if they never release the flip sensor scan mode, which would allow one cam to be upside down.
I believe the minimum inter axial is still 3.5", even with no lens attatched.
Maybe can shoot 12 feet away then!

Thanks guys. Yes, the inter-axial distance can be less then 4". You can shoot from as close as you like depending on whether and what background you have and how far.

That would be a great accessory for someone to make (Brooke?) I would buy one.
If you want to buy one you just need to contact me, not Brook. :)

It is not a hack, it is a working prototype involving 60 coax cores soldered on an edge connector smaller than a thumb nail. Fully tested throughout the frequency range.
RED told me that they will not be providing any alternative solution, so you may have a long wait if you want to get one from RED. If you want one now, you can contact me.

Hi, I am in desperate need of this ribbon cable for a 3d Shoot where I need to fly 2 x red epics on a drone via M15 movi. Can you tell me where you purchased these ribbon cables? or can I buy rent yours?

Thanks

Jordy

A great idea is to get the camera to record to an external HDD like 3 or 4TB pocket drive =)

We had the same issue Jordy. Ended up with this :) https://instagram.com/p/BQBo-eRhNQw/ It works fine! Flying the Alta 8, but haven't done enough testing to say anything about flight time etc. Doesn't look like the Movi XL is any wider either... Keep us posted on your solution!
