  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I got my Scarlet-W and I am very surprised with the temperature. It works fine when in the AC, but as soon as out of the AC and in anything over 75 degrees it gets very toasty and the fans get quite loud. It will normally be picked up by most mics.

When inside with AC temp stays around 40-43 C core with the fans set to adaptive. Outside is normally 46-48 C core with the fans at 100% at an ambient temperature around 80 F.

Camera is auto blackshaded at 40 C and 43 C but I have the 40C selected. I sent a ticket to RED and they said it all is normal.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

It's normal as the fan will work hard to keep it within the selected low target temperature in a hot environment, try to blackshade at higher temps to make the fan quieter. I personally blackshaded at 44C for indoors and 48C for blazing hot day when shooting outdoors under the sun and it's doing just fine.
