People have dared ask if the scarlet will have the built in laser projector. Let's examine this.
If you have a laser projector in your camera and project a pixel at a time you only need one good (great) sensor pad to capture an image, as each pixel is scanned it will stick out above the average illumination. Believe it or not, this is one of the camera image capture designs I came up with and considered years ago (almost momentarily because if you consider interlacing bad etc, this would be incredibly bad and I came up with something better) among many. It is good for scanning things though, as with the right light source you can get back the light frequency spread of the particular pixel presentable in a pattern. You can go onto 3d holographics from here, but from a film production perspective you can scan your set to get precise color information (at start and end of scenes and in the shutter period (scanning canbe faster than the eye can notice). Using the two methords (video motion and scan capture you should be able to effectively deinterlace the scan). This light spread has other purposes too.
You notice laser and light spread are a bit mutually exclusive, but I'll leave that to your imaginations.
