Just thought I would post this note of confidence in my Scarlet. Yesterday morning (Tuesday), we arrived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and started shooting, mostly at the surge line - as in right on the water's edge. Slept a few hours last night and continued at 5AM today for about 9 hours. I had bought a rain cover for my camera from 3ality Technica. Awesome piece of gear (could use some design changes from my viewpoint, it worked great).
Although the eye of the storm hit in Louisiana, we were in the path of the higher winds of the counter-clockwise bands.
Most of the time we were in 70-80 MPH sustained winds. Driving rain. About 8-12 feet of surge - water off the beach and across highways and roads.
Constant taking the camera in and out of an air-conditioned vehicle. And just everything gets wet with salt water moisture. The camera performed flawlessly. At one point the 5" LCD would un-responsive, and we powered the camera down and back up and the problem went away.
I would say we put it to the test under these type of conditions.
