Hey all,

Don't know if this has been asked in this specific instance.

Redcode Raw is quite a treat but storage heavy.

Would Redcode for the 2/3" Scarlet be "scalable?"

Here's where I'm coming from.

You shoot a short/feature and you want the best quality from the cam so of course you shoot the highest bitrate/lowest compression RAW.

That takes up a significant amount of storage.

Say, though, I wanted to shoot an event that didn't require that intensive a bitrate? I shoot a dance recital and I'd like to see it come in at under 100 GB for two cams to shoot a 2 hour show. Could I set the Redcode to fit those parameters? Better than AVCHD at 24 mb/s but nothing like the storage requirements for Redcode full on for the Scarlet?

Just wondering.

Thanks for listening.

Well there will probably be some various settings, but I doubt it will end up exactly like you want, but you could probably just shoot 2k and end up with a substantially lower bitrate, just don't expect handicam levels of data.

RED ONE has 36 MB/s and 28 MB/s options, so my guess is that Scarlet, too, will have options.

I'd like to see it come in at under 100 GB for two cams to shoot a 2 hour show.

That would require 7 MB/s. It's possible, but I doubt it will happen.
