On an MX sensor...
Windowed 3K is 16.59mm. Super 16 covers 12mm of film.
BUT Windowed 2K is 11.06mm. And at 2K/1080, Scarlet shoots 60 fps.
Epic is truly the high speed camera, but this is incredible for beauty, portraits, macro work, aerial photography, anyone who shoots outdoors... anyone who lives near a rental house or has savings and an eBay account. Outside 2K mode, switch back to EF-mount for your day to day photo lenses.
And sure, it's 1080, but 1080 Raw, Redcode 3:1 is plenty for web content. And cutting resolution is a fine way to take care of too much detail, whether you use a stocking on the lens or a windowed 2K sensor.
(All this plus 6:1 at 24p on the same sensor as Epic, this is a better Red One at half price...)
