ROM - A Scarlet Feature Film (Trailer)

[Ben Sliker]

Here's the first teaser trailer for our first feature film -- ROM (Read-Only Memory). Matthew Bumby and I purchased our Scarlet specifically to shoot this movie and we're excited to share the first bits of footage. ROM is a family drama with some sci-fi elements, shot over 14 months in North Carolina. (<-so we could stretch our ridiculously low budget as far as possible) :001_smile:

It is very compelling, thanks for sharing.

Nice camera work, what lenses did you shoot with if you don't mind me asking?

[Derek Morrison]

Wow, I'm really interested in this film. Do post about its release, I want to see it.

Thanks for your interest. We'll be sure to keep this thread updated with any news. If you want, you can like our facebook page at facebook.com/romthemovie and you be certain to get all the latest info.

We'll have another 2 trailers (another character teaser and a full 'story' trailer) to come, plus more info on our distribution plans soon (hopefully)

Looks pretty well shot to me. I like the colour too. Good luck!

[Ryan Lightbourn]

Looks great Ben.

Just shot my first (as writer/director) on Scarlet as well. I'm planning on the Epic upgrade for my next one then Dragon in 2015. No other camera I've owned has satisfied me more than the Scarlet!

Thanks! We just did a quick grade in FCP-X, but hope to use resolve for the final grade.

We're done spending cash on equipment right now, got a few post-pro expenses to take care of! But we've been blessed with Scarlet's abilities. It has saved our butts sometimes with a small crew and short shooting days. On more than one occasion, I uttered the phrase, "Is the exposure/focus good? Great. We'll fix the rest later."
