I recently purchased a Scarlet-X for my own filmmaking needs. I have had several people request to rent my Scarlet but since I do not have a full package and insurance I have not done so. What types of insurance do you usually carry? What insurance do you usually require people to have to rent your package? I would also need to invest in a lens package and and better power options but it might be worth it for me to do so.

Thanks.

I'm not sure if these issues are relevant in USA, but here are some of the issues I've encountered while researching insurance policies here in Europe:

1) If your camera is not returned after a rental period, it may be considered to be fraud instead of theft. Will they cover that?
2) The insurance value of the equipment may be lowered by up to 20% per year. It is a big issue for equipment such as tripods and fluid heads which obviously have a useful life that is a lot longer than 5 years.
3) They may have very strict requirements on how to store the equipment when it's not in use. All the windows, doors, AC vents, walls etc. need to be within specifed specs in order to be "burglar-proof". It can be difficult to modify old building to be compliant with these policies.
4) The deductible amount can be 4 times higher when the equipment in rental use (say, 200€ when you are using it yourself and 800€ when someone else is using it)
5) Some insurance companies will not cover thefts that have occurred from vehicles between 9pm and 7am

Some of the rental companies here charge an extra 5% on top of the rental fee. They also offer the option for the clients to insure it themselves instead of paying the 5% fee.
