I wish to upgrade my Redmote and the manual states that I must download Epic firmware, which I'm not permitted to do (as I'm not an Epic owner). Is there something I'm missing here?

Are you a scarlet owner? The REDmote upgrade will be available in that package as well.

What you must download is "Epic Operation Guide" for instructions, not Epic Firmware. Once you're logged in, you can go to support-> downloads-> epic operation guide

Unless I'm mistaken, both the Epic and Scarlet manuals state to download Epic firmware. In addition, both refer to a RedmoteUpgradeApp, which appears nowhere in the Scarlet firmware download. There is a folder called Redmote_Upgrade_Utility but the .dmg item in the Mac folder within opens Adobe Flash Builder.

EDIT: Somehow the Redmote.dmg file became associated with Adobe. To prevent Adobe from opening, I right-clicked the file and opened with DiskImageMounter instead, which successfully opened the upgrade utility.

Arnold, follow the instructions to the letter and when you get to that part that says open "Mac" just open it and instead of clicking "RedmoteUpgradeApp" click "Redmote.dmg" that's all. Then continue to follow instructions

Edit: I'm assuming you're on a Mac
