REDCINE-x slower than a turtle after update

So I have a GTX 780Ti and up until about a month ago it would fly through transcoding. I'd say it could do it just under real-time. As of the update, it takes about 1.5 hours for a 2-minute clip. What changed? Is RED gimping the software so that people have to buy the rocket cards?

I have had the same problem a couple times before and I have found that after updating, for some reason when going to preferences menu I find that my GPU mode selection is set back to Disable GPU in the System tab... After choosing the right GPU everything goes back to normal!
