Coming from a world of Ef mount lenses. How do red primes compare to Schneider or Zeiss. The price is some what on par or below in the PL mounts. How do they compare over all? (Battle tested included)

Zeiss CP2 and Schneider Xenons are FULL FRAME (ie cover 5D), but generally slower - Zeiss 2.8 on wide end, but then a 1.4 from 35-85. The Xenon's are T2 across all primes, except 18mm is some kind of split btw T2 and T3 (I believe).

RPP are NOT FULL FRAME - they are designed to cover S35 (and therefore the wides wont cover all Dragon 6K formats), but they are VERY SHARP, quite fast 1.7/1.8 across all primes, but also very LARGE AND HEAVY. Very clean look.

Thanks Nick,

so for red camera's like one and scarlet the RPP would be superior then zeiss or Schneider? I know they weigh a bit but with being sharp and fast. They should give a over all better cinematography look? Wont be hitting the 6k spectrum for quite some time (still trying to master 4k)

Optically I like them.

The wider ones are heavy. The longer ones are like Masters+

Markings are not necessarily totally precise.

I'd take them any day.
