RED MX, S4's + Grip Hire in North Carolina

Hey All,

I'm hunting for a rental house based in/around North Carolina that could service a short that I'm lighting in Feb 2011. I'm based in the UK so know nothing of the area unfortunately.

Our wish list is based around an MX system, ideally with Cooke S4's and then the usual suspects on the support/accessories/grip side. Nothing too extravagant, unusual, or complex.

We also need a decent dolly (ideally a Chapman, though I'm open to others) along with some other basic bits of grip.

If anyone happens to run a house that might be able to service this, or could point me in the direction of one, I would be most grateful.

There is sufficient budget for it. I know I could put the package together here in the UK for what is available, though being a short it's obviously all self funded by the producers.

these guys are in charleston, south carolina. that's on the coast. they may be within a few hours of where you are, depending on what part of north carolina you are in.

i know of a couple REDs in charlotte, but no MX. Paul mentioned Wilmington Camera. They have REDs and S4s.

I just worked with Darkwood Productions on a shoot for a few weeks. Mark's a great guy and has a nice sized grip truck and dolly. http://darkwoodprod.com/about.html

Thanks for all the links and referrals guys. I'll pass on the info to production (as they are making the arrangements) and get them to get in touch. I know they have been speaking with a few houses so far but nothing is finalized as yet.

Hey All,

Just to say we ended up going with Max at Gearhead - www.gearheadcamera.com

The equipment was beautifully packed and prepped and was solid and reliable throughout. The S4's were clean and smooth and all went off without a technical hitch.
