  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hi Guys,

Since RED USER isn't working properly and there seems to be about 5 people on it these days...
WIP Posts from RED seem very thin, but I think the back end of this forum is not working properly in the last few weeks with it's new rebuild. I have funny feeling news ain't getting out as it once did. Unsure?
Anyway, Can anyone share what's going on? or point me at a link that actually works? Is there any new news about (post Japan disaster) EPIC delivery dates yet ?.

Come on Jim, You've been the only reason for the last 2+ years that I come to this site. It makes my day reading your exciting work in progress posts. Showing off new gadgets, brackets, lenses cameras, 3d mockups etc...
It's getting abit annoying listening to you trying to defend yourself all the time. No Need.

Bring this site back to life mate, It's dying, breath some life back into man! It needs you. (or a proxie you)

And dude, a bit of friendly advice, don't get upset when people on this forum talk shit or question you or things you are trying to do. just move on. Some people hate Lamboghini's and love ferraris... Does Lambo give a shit! They sell 10 Lambos to one Ferrari every day. Both the same price, both go the same speed.

If a thread is bad press, bad conversation or just plain miss information. just delete it. Do us all a favor. Don't get involved with it, Don't leave it on where it turns into a subjective avalanche. Just wipe it out or get your moderators to do it for you.
Simple, then we have less crap to sift through and hence more usable information comes to the fore.

99% of us just click in to listen to you, Jarrard & Ted's news an WIP reports nothing more. Just one bit of hot news per day is all we need.

Any objections fellow REDUSERS. :thumbsup:

I'm not sure what you mean about dying and/or only 5 people posting on the entire forum, look at the bottom of the front page and it'll show you who's on. As for Jim not posting, everyone at Red is getting ready for production as well as NAB in a couple days. As much as I'd love some news, which there was some announced just the other day(clutch shipping), I'd much rather have them continue as they are so that everyone can get their cameras, which, again is what red is working towards. Also there's supposed to be a couple big announcements at NAB, which is in a couple days. So honestly I'm nope worried about it, it's all coming.
 
I wonder, Mark, if Red are in lockdown mode prior to NAB like many companies do around this time. Saving all the news for next week. Add to that they could be flat knacker trying to replace components they can no longer get from Japan. Myself, I'm frantically doing nothing at all, waiting for Monday at the show.

I'm sure NAB is the bottle neck for now.

I was exaggerating about 5.. (joke) Online means online.. not reading.
 
I have a feeling they're saving everything for NAB. I think we're looking at the calm before the storm.

Your there in Vegas now? I was so going to go this year, but I've been swept away onto another job.. Can't complain. :)
Yes I'm hoping a lot comes out of NAB. instead of just brackets & matt boxes. I was hoping to be using my Epic by now (before NAB) . But... alas poor Japan. I wish them all the best with there reconstruction and life rebuilding. I couldn't think of anything worse than loosing my loved ones. I've been too scared to turn the TV on of late.

I think you maybe right about NAB consuming there time. But then again, Ive been to NAB and seen the RED tent, There's not 200 people working there. But there's about 200 lined up deep out the front of it though.
But I dare say they are trying to get cameras built to meet promises. or should I say demands.

My little thread is more about getting this blog back to its former glory. It does feel like nothing is going on in it since the rebuild and loosing 3 years of posts is annoying. There was some great resources in there. (and alot of shit).

Yeah, everybody is waiting for Epic-S specs and price to lock out at NAB.

A sort of competition belt around RED new Epic cameras is tightening up with much expected announcement of

brand new Sony line of cameras

Sony F65 4K (Epic-M and Epic-X competitor),

I'm looking forward to hearing what news comes from NAB. I'm sure RED will unveil some great toys. Regarding your "five people" on this site, sure it's an exaggeration but it does have a ring of truth to it. Perhaps it's because many visitors are overly cautious on making candid posts for a variety of reasons.
