RED Clutch with rear gold mount help

Can't seem to get the camera to fit when I have the wooden camera gold mounted to the back of the Epic. Reason being, the spine that comes up from the shoulder piece of the clutch.

Anyone have experience with this? Workarounds / best practices would be good to know. My first thought was finding a riser for the camera.

In the meantime look what I found in the basement haha. Kinda funny how well this works as a DIY fix.
