Hi all,

Does some of you guys have a Leica already mounted on their Komodo? If yes, what are your findings?

Final question is do you guys have any recommendations for a good RF to Leica Converter?

Thanks a lot!

Get your Leica Rs to EF first. It's hard to believe many good R-Bajonett adapters coming out.
It's already worse for EF than PL - but don't count too much on R-mount.

I use a Metabones RF to M Adapter for my old Summicrons. Its a very tight fit and has worked well for me so far. Got it at B&H - Metabones Leica M Lens to Canon RF-Mount Camera T Adapter (Black) MELMEFRBT1 of $89

You can go straight from RF to Leica R in a single adapter. No reason to convert the lenses to EF, stay native.
Option 2 is RF to M + M to R
I have both options and both are excellent

Got ya! Will look into this option. Thank you very much!

Awesome Think I will try to get my hands on one of these!

Thank you! Gives me de confidence to skip converting to EF.

Converting to EF is worth it IMO. Adaptors are a pain to swap when switching between lenses on a fast paced shoot and if one would break that is another problem too. The only advantage to not converting a Leica-R to EF in my opinion is if you shoot on Leica Rangefinders and interchange the lenses with your photography gear which in that case it makes sense. EF mount swap is so easy and solid on Leica-R and it is even reversible. Not to mention if you get a full cine-mod by Duclos or Simmod you get proper collimation of the lens, de-clicking of the iris, focus gears, and standard 80mm front adaptor rings for matte-box integration. It's a no brainer, I had a set of Summilux and Summicron lenses I was using with adapters at first and now that I fully cine-moded with Duclos I am really happy and it makes these lenses much more like a traditional cinema lens. Just the extra flexibility in iris/exposure adjustment by not having hard stops with a de-clicked iris is a game changer with these lenses.

I converted mine to EF so i can use rear ND filters, and later when Canon puts it out the booster
