Recommend App to Downlad Youtube Video

[Peter Moretti]

Hi all,

I need to download some video from Youtube. I've done a web search on different apps that can do this, but I'm somewhat skeptical/suspicious of the results. As I don't want to install "rogue" software on my computer.

If any of you could point to an app (paid is fine) that safely and reliably can download video from Youtube, that would be great!

Thank so VERY MUCH!

This website works fine without having to install software locally.

http://keepvid.com is what I use - never had any trouble.

Completely free
Resides on the web, not your machine - so OS independent
Gives you multiple resolutions to choose from including source
Allows to download just the audio...

Best one for Windows: Internet Download Manager.
It's not free, but you get a download manager, which is also capable of downloading videos from YouTube exactly as they are (without re-encoding), while giving you all available resolutions/frame rates.
