RCX EDL import with handles? (More than 10 frames)

Hey guys,

I've been using the EDL import feature in 351 and it has been working flawlessly!

Is it possible to export more than 10 frames of handles after a edl import? The only way I can figure out how to get more, is to manually replace each R3D and trim. Ideally I'd like to be able to send out 48 frames of handles for vfx incase the cut changes.

I don't think this is an option, but I would use it, too.
Maybe it will be added!

if coming from an Avid, I do a decompose of the sequence with user defined handles at that time. Then there is no need to add handles at time of export in RCX. When using decompose, the Media Composer also handles whatever handles needed for the VFX such as dissolves etc. already.

But if not from MC, then that is certainly a valid request with 48 frames or more being quite common.

This job is coming out of fcp so unfortunately thats not an option. Good to know that it works fine coming out of Avid though.

I agree. 10 frames is often not enough.

In the meantime you could use Clipfinder 2.5, which can do a pull from an FCP XML with any size of handle, and "send to REDcineX".

Thanks Nick! I brought the EDL into Clipfinder and added handles, next I sent the clips to a timeline in RCX. Works like a charm. :hurray:
