I have been trying to make a custom aspect ratio of 2.35:1 but when I input the number it corrects it to 2.3500:1, and it won't stick while jumping in between different aspect ratios.

And while I am at it, the scarlet guide dose not go in depth in the difference between the frame guide and action guide, or the title guide.

Sorry for the total newbie Scarlet questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. =)

We are always showing the 4 digits after the decimal, so 2.35:1 is the same as 2.3500:1. What do you mean it won't stick?

I'm sure others on this forum can give you a better explanation of how and when you should use Frame, Action, and Title guides but here is a wikipedia link to get you started (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe_area)

As far as the firmware is concerned the Frame guide is special in that you can make the Action and Title guides relative to it. That is, you can chose whether your Action and Title guide settings (aspect ratio, scale, offset, etc) are relative to the video format or the Frame guide. In this way it acts as a "Master" guide that the others are constrained to. Of course, if you make them all relative to the video format then they are completely independent.
