Re-edit: The thread is about finding review sites where they rate the best music that you can select from.

----------------

I was wondering today is there any sites that recommend good music to look at for productions?

I don't necessarily mean hits or classics that cost a fortune to license, but there are great songs out there that aren't which might slot in a scene.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not interested in free in preference to 'good' music, but somebody must be making lists of good action music, good romantic music, good nature music and such forth, then you can track down the tights holders and negotiate a license. We get caught up in free, but if it isn't t as good it is not going to sell your production as well.

I can´t help you exactly, but we have just used a member on RU, Tiko Lasola, to compose some music for an action sport TV series we just finished.
Great guy, with great music. Can make anything you ask it seems. We needed epic "classical" kind of music and quickly got some great tracks.
He has a list of quite a few tracks on his webpage tikolasola.com. Go and check it out.
Agree on the "free" thing, we had a very low budget, but at least we found some money to pay for his skills.

I've just looked around their and on wikipedia to see if I could find a link to such sites, and found something interesting.

Happy birthday, they don't know who wrote the words, how is that copyrighted by anybody in particular. The music was written in 1893.

Joachim, that helps, thanks.

Hello Wayne,

I've worked with several RedUsers and always get great feedback. check out some of my tracks here: www.tikolasola.com/tracks
I can tailor music to suit your needs and match a mood/feel you want. You can contact me anytime!

Tiko, I was being friendly, I really want to pick great off the shelf music at cheap price because people already have made their money off of it. I can tailor the selection to fit the moods and themes, that's my talent. But I'm not against paying somebody to do tailored music instead, so thanks.. The thread is about finding review sites where they rate the best music that you can select from and even find work that you like so you can approach them about doing a similar track for you.

No problem. I had no intention of hijacking the thread, just wanted to let you know I'm here if needed!

Musically,
Tiko

No, cool man, I admire that. Lots of people won't front up around here, except in opinion. If I was in need of doing custom music I would be interested. My music artist is getting out of prison sometime, but that is more music for video games. Never stretched him to see if he could compose something sophisticated and moving.
