Problem getting STEREO audio on PC

We have material where two separate line sources are recorded on ch1 and ch2.
Only two channels were switched on.
When I do extract the sound via PC QuickTime I get a stereo .wav
but both channels are identical and have mixed sounds from both inputs.

QuickTime Pro for Windows 7.3
Windows XP

Can anybody confirm/disagree the bug?

Just go to the properties of the file in QT and you will see ch1 mono, ch2 mono
Click on mono and pull down menu will show you the options.
Set the first as a Left and second as a Right.

BTW Look in the Audio group on first 8 threads, all is explained there.
