Are you guys getting a red bar anytime you bring in 4k scarlet footage... the presets don't support the native 4k frame size of the scarlet at 4k.

Any way of fixing this?

i guess you have to install the RED import from Adobe and select a native 4K Timeline from the presets. Then set your resolution to 1/2 or 1/4 to preview live. And make sure that you have Mercury Playback engine enabled!

Cs6 doesn't need the importer - it should all be built in now :)

You should be able to open any timeline (new project) and then drag your 4K clip onto it... it should ask you if you want to keep the project settings or match those of the clip... select the clip and you're good to go.

As Daniel said, don't forget to change your playback (and pause) resolutions to a lower setting.

Even when I tell it to do the settings to match my clip it still gives a red bar... Maybe this is just how the system works

Ryan,
i'm on cs 5.5 and 6....when setting up a sequence choose RED and then your size...fairly easy...you should also be able to take anR3d from the bin; pull it to the sequence creator tab at bottom of that window and drop it....then it will land there and should then be an R3d sequence..I prefer making my sequence first as anR3d and choosing my scale size (my case 1920x1080)....should not be a red render bar at top...but likely yellow.

Just checked using CS 6....Make an R3d sequence at 1920x1080 drop in a 4k R3d...it will ask you if you want to match sequence settings...no matter if you choose yes or no, you should get a yellow render bar--that' nothing to worry about....normal. But RED? not sure how you get that, but i only get yellow if i match sequence settings or clip to match my sequence settings.

Same here - yellow bars.

Running CS6 (trial) on a crappy i5/6gb HP laptop (the type without an external graphics card)... so the machine isn't very powerful.

Ryan, what machine are you running?

On the current MacBook pro. It's really strange I've even a long time adobe user as well as other post packagages( I'm part owner of a post house ). Maybe I should reinstall cause it seems as if I'm doing everything right

Try disabling "OpenCl GPU Acceleration" for this project and restart Premiere. The yellow bar should appear.

Mmm - maybe a bad install or some conflicts with the previous version?

Unless any one else suggests differently (other Mac users who may have had this problem), it seems the most logical step would be a clean install.

*edit - Robino_J's idea sounds good.

Hi Ryan - just wondered if you managed to fix the install?

Have not had a chance yet. Working on it this morning

uninstalled everything i had adobe... reinstalled just cs6... still get a red bar insted of the proper bar. Everything plays fine... just get a render bar. Any one from Adobe out there with any thoughts?

Hey Ryan and others, I'm running 5.5, and getting the same red line. I'm pretty sure I Installed all of the plugins correctly.

You should be yellow line with cs55 and 4k hd scarlett or epic
Drag your 3rd to the new sequence icon, then right click on the timeline and choose adjust size : it is smooth enoughvto edit directly
