I am not allowed to post new threads in the "RED Discussion" forum. Is it a privileged forum? What's wrong with my member status? Who should I talk to about this?

Which forum exactly? Certain forums are reply only- such as RECON. Only RED folks can start threads there.

Yep I'm blocked from making new threads in RED Discussions too, I can post replies though. Maybe the permissions are just set for the whole "Red Digital Cinema" Category. All three forums probably inherited the settings of the category, when somebody changed something. Should just be able to go into the Red Discussions forum (in the admin panel) and check (or uncheck, forget which it is) registered users.

Have you guys ever messed with forum permission settings?

It's a bloddy tricky configuration page full of checkboxes!

Easy to mess stuff up accidentally.

Hey. Just came across this thread. Looks like there was a bit of a permissions mix up for imported users after the heart attack. I've corrected it and posting of threads in RED DISCUSSION should now be enabled once again. But, not RECON or CRUCIAL ORDINANCE of course
