Hi,

I've attached a screen grab from page 79 of the Scarlet Operations Guide. It shows a frame rate chart which is obviously NOT correct. In fact, it looks like a chart from an old Epic manual. For example, the chart indicates that the Scarlet can shoot 5K FF at 96fps, which we all know is impossible.

Could somebody at RED PLEASE correct this, because there are a lot of people who rent your cameras, and we need to know exactly what the cameras are capable of shooting well BEFORE the shoot. BTW, this chart has been wrong for almost TWO YEARS and this isn't the first time I've written about it on REDUSER.

Sorry for the rant, but industry professionals depend on documentation to be correct and up-to-date in order to make informed decisions. I wouldn't be surprised if there were other mistakes throughout both the Scarlet and Epic manuals.

And finally, the operation guide used to contain a resolution chart which gave the specific pixel dimensions for every format. It would be nice to see this information reappear in the docs.

Thanks,
Paul

With our continued growth and customer reach, one of the biggest obstacles we face is bandwidth. RED is not normal and we are OK with that. While our team is still relatively small, we are focused on connecting with all of our customers. We do not tolerate good enough during our hiring process and only bring on the right rockstars once we're able to infect them with RED DNA. A few months ago we found the right technical writer. She is addicted to accurate content, educating our customers and taking the RED documentation experience to the next level. We are pushing the boundaries of documentation and developing new assets to highlight the advanced technologies and solutions RED products deliver. We will get this document fixed now and stay tuned for a completely innovative approach to documentation. We are here because of our customers and I encourage sending any documentation feedback or suggestions directly to opsguides@red.com to ensure it gets to the right person. Sleep tight... RED SUPPORT is awake.

This is great news Nick

Thanks Nick!

It's nice to hear that this problem is finally being addressed. I've dealt with confusing or incomplete docs for years. But, presenting information which is misleading, or (in this case) completely wrong, definitely needs immediate attention.

Thanks again,
Paul

Sounds good! If you need any translation-volunteering or such (language: German) just drop me a note :)
