Hey forum...i'm cutting a feature on Avid right now that was shot on Super16, and the director just did some pickup shots on RED.

A little new to the REDCINE stuff - currently editing offline in a 23.976 project to be onlined after picture lock.

What would be the best settings to use for exporting from REDCINE?

Any advice much appreciated!!!

*Additional Notes: when i try and change the settings to custom and specify like 853 x 480 in REDCINE, it just crops the image - I want to shrink it. This is probably really simple, but I just new to this app.

no help...i'm not wording this right.

does anyone know how to export out of RECINE to match a standard def project? i'm working with offline footage shot on film with pickups just done on RED. the online will be to digibeta first - not HD yet.

when i try and export from REDCINE it crops the image to the size I specify - it doesn't shrink it. I need it to retain the entire image and just shrink it down to standard def size.

THANKS!!!

If it looks correct in QT, then make sure you have the right settings in the import dialog box on Avid.

You can bring up the frame guides and have 1.66 (if it's super16mm, 1.33), so you can therefore crop, or resize to that frame.
