  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OPTOMA 3D-XL

Nothing like it on the market as of yet, and the unit is not full HD 1080P, as it Upscales the Incoming signal to match the 1080P signal form the Blue Ray player or Projection system, so not been natively 1080P, the image will suffer.

I prefer to buy in to the Samsung DLP Projector, with image sizable up to a 250" Screen.

Right now I have the Samsung 9000 Series 3D LED TV, and it rocks, with 3D Blue Ray Player also Samsung and their Rechargeable Active SHutter Glasses.

SOny has the new 90, coming out as well, but the 8000 series Projection system form Samsung is the best for now at around 7k, for HOme 3D theater that is.

For the Studio we are looking at both Barco and the new Sony Systems, but this are nearly 100k per system.

Samsung is ok, but I prefer projection design when money is not a problem... but... this is not the case.

I think 720p out is ok when you have 1080 side by side input, like me. This converter don't acept 1080p out because at 120Hz it's so much bandwith. I think that HDMI can't support 1080p 120Hz at this moment.

I think a cheap projector (600$) + this converter (400$) + xpand glasses (100$) + Screen (300$) can be perfect for adjust convergence in big screen. For grading Panasonic Plasma VT25 or similar with good blacks (I have samsung 7000 and I don't like blacks, maybe 9000 is better).

saludos,

Jose.
