  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Per Jarred mentioning the idea of a list (as a joke? not sure, haha) and my own desire to read and re-read the highlights, here are the things that have been answered/suggested/left open by RED and REDUser Moderators in the Nov 30th feedback thread.

Post numbers of the original posts (from the feedback thread) are/were accurate as of my initially posting this. As we all know, things shift around occasionally.

I will continue to update this as I read new posts in that thread. Feel free to PM me if you think I should move or clarify something.


As a general note, Jarred has acknowledged that RED is working on an updated spec sheet (post #676 in feedback thread).

The knob is aprox. 2.5" in diameter, there are some similar sized knobs on the market and it feels really good in your hand. The white ring is replaceable. The Battery on the Redmote should last an entire day. When it is on the back of the camera it charges itself as well."

Let's just say that an f/1.5-stop on the Mini Prime is close to an f/1.4-2.0 split. Therefore that would look like shooting at f/4.0 on a Super-35 camera."

Finally, Jarred said (somewhat vaguely, as was the point I assume) that #21 from the announcement list is not any of these things and is "much more special" than some of the speculation. (See post #311).

Just a quick thing, page numbers are a bit difficult because some people have their settings different for how they view a thread so perhaps the post # is better. Although overall good job! nice to see all the info coming together

And yes, page numbers are a bit difficult the Nov. 30 thread is only 24 pages long with my current settings. But either way, this is a great list of the highlights.
