MVC Encoders any more affordable nowadays?

[Rudi Herbert]

Gentlemen,

Are we any closer to reasonably cheap MVC encoding for 3D Bluray or are the options still the Sony $50K encoder with the $10K per year subscription or the net blender for $7K? I still cannot believe that these are the only available options to encode a proper 3D Bluray, so please enlighten me as to any newly available or on the near horizon options.

Thanks,

Not really, no. As far as I know, Vegas can edit and burn the MVC from the Sony TD-10 camera, but that's about it, not even from the JVC one, but it will not encode to MVC from any other two files on any other format, so it's basically a pass-through functionality so to speak. I would love it if I were wrong, but I think that's basically it.
