I guess I should have specified. A balance of affordability and efficiency. Best bang for buck.

I have the Genus Elite... like it a lot. The O-Connor OBox is fantastic though, and roughly the same price I think... can't remember if it clips on though.

Yeah. I love the O-box. Trevor, I am talking about the Genus wide angle clip on that retails for $450. It is really only good for still lenses as it's back is only 105mm

as a fellow scarlet owner, looking for value, but a pro mattbox, i think the Red Rock Micro swing away matte box is the best value, for $1000. Doesnt clip on, mounts to bottom rails (can be 15/19mm), so that would be fast for changing lenses).

there are always those little rubber filter threaded hoods if you want...

Pay attention to the widest lens you can use.

It's not cheap if it won't work with your lens, it's an expensive paperweight.

The O-Box WM probably beats them all - and with the Dragon coming out, with a slightly wider sensor, that will become more important.

@ Michael Notar

Dont go the redrock any modest wide angle lens you own will have problems. Also becasue the box is so big the Rails don't slide under, so your camera & FF is held hostage by the matte box at the front. I can say this because I once owned one a got rid of it for these very reasons. Search the threads for write ups on this MB from other owners before you buy.

For the same dollars go O box...as Les suggested to a degree this MB works the best for very wides and possible dragon sensor upgrades.

I absolutely love this matte box. I just bought it for my scarlet. I use Zeiss ZF lenses, so the 4x4 setup is compact lightweight and affordable. It's the perfect companion to my Scarlet. And actually well made.
