I'm looking for a low cost system for my Scarlet, for when I am using a lightweight matte box and follow focus, battery plate adaptor and V lock, and Canon EF lenses. E-Image fit the bill in terms of bang per buck, so long as the bang doesn't extend to the tripod breaking. Any opinions from users? Although I was looking for something lightweight, I would rather have a 100mm ball so was looking at the 1085 or 1087 with carbon legs.

Cheers

So far so good for me. The stitching on the soft bag that came with them is starting to come apart, but other than that, no issues.

The "Name Brand" cheap tripod is Manafrotto. Their stuff is inexpensive, bullet proof, and replacement parts are cheap and easy to source.

Going up from there would be Cartoni...

Another solution is a used O'Connor 50.

Recently bought the E-Image 7107H - I needed somthing much more solid for the Scarlet (5D user until now) and i've been very pleasantly surprised! I say surprised... I tried it first which I think is a must with these things. Anyway, it's fantastic and I can highly recomend it (especially considering it can take 15kgs and the offerings from the 'common brands' that could handle that weight were 3, 4, 5 times the price!)

Ps. Yes the bag is not so good! Otherwise it's excellent!
