Greetings folks!

I am interested in getting some advice for purchasing the proper plates to outfit our Scarlet to mount onto the ET Mantis HH rig. We would like to work with WC cam support, but were unsure if there was compatibility between the WC products and this rig. I greatly appreciate the insight as I come from a producer background and am limited in knowledge when it comes to the nuances of camera support.

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.

Cheers!

In what way? I have read that Wooden and RED stuff goes together well... I don't know if ETbottom plate goes with the Wooden stuff but to be on the safe side I would goes hybrid shim plate (ET) and then you should be set. That being said give Ryan a call at Wooden he is super nice. I think either bottom plate will work though if you wanna put arms on it, that might be a problem... And by arms I mean Ribs...

I know the WC plates are not compatible with the RED TACT RIBS, I guess the simpler question is what components would I need to have from WC to mount to the MANTIS rig.

Maybe their bottom, but I don't know if the ET stuff is WC compatible... Call ET ask for May Peltonen and tell her I for you to call her because she knows all the technica answers..

You need a bridge plate and a riser (brings to proper height).. honestly I would get VIEWFACTORS but if you want WOODEN to work for ya get:

Bridgeplate 19mm for Red Epic and Scarlet
(OR 15mm, not available either) THIS is what enables you to SLIDE onto the built in dovetail on the ET MANTIS
Easy Riser Plate for Red Epic & Scarlet
Lightweight 15mm Rod Bracket for Red Epic (you'll want this for LW 15mm accessories, or get the Viewfactor one which I would)

I would get
15/19 Dual Studio Kit (THIS is what enables you to SLIDE onto the built in dovetail on the ET MANTIS, and it's both 15mm and 19mm STUDIO, which is great, and will help you in rentals.. you can buy ONE or the OTHER if you want)

Good luck

Paul, thanks so much! This is super helpful.

Justin, I'm actually seeking input on the plate/rail system for our camera overall, so I am totally open to any and all suggestions. Whats most important is that we can build the camera out for pretty much all applications as we book jobs of all sizes. It seems this suggestion would be our best solution. Honestly I was just going to WC as I know a lot of folks use them for 3rd party support, but I'm not married to anything at this point, just looking for the best solutions. We are also looking for top plate and ribs as well, that being said would you suggest: http://www.viewfactor.net/products/fmj-kit-2-sidearms-50-off.html and building it out from there.

Once again thanks guys!

I'd get the FMJ it comes with 4 ribs top, bottom (aka riser) and the 15mm LW support

Get the ET hybrid w/19mm.. If you ever decide you want 15mm studio it's only another $300.. Try and be a future proof as possible..
