macbook pro whit 2 e-sata???? no exprescard 34

well.

its little creasy but what if a take out my optical drive and also my Hard Drive internal and put 2 e-sata conectors? so i can conect the red station and also the HDD for rushes

i will run Mac OsX from my FW800 Hard drive.

the problems:
im think i must re start evry time y download a redmag because i guees they will not be plug and play.

the good:
i will download a full redmag 128gb in about 20 minutes. today we wrap and it was remaind 4 redmag 128 each.
so it will help me alot.

im working with Fw800 in chain so its little slow.


what do you think? it posible? it to stupid? it will work?

i have a 15¨ Macpro early 2010 it has not the exprescard 34.

Time for a new computer, I dont even consider a Laptop to be able to keep up with Epic footage.

jejejejjeje, yeap, i now.

its the firs featured in my country whit epic, and the rental either the production either the DIT was not prepared for this. i just a good friend of the DIT and want to help her.

buy a new mac tomorrow is not a possibility, the rental is buying a mac pro but they most bring it from USA, may be 3 to 4 weeks.
even if we get a 17´mac we have not the expresscard to e-sata and bring it from USA will take 2 weeks.
so for the next project hope the producers and the rentals pay for what we need.

but producers here think of digital cinema cameras a CHEEP way to shot featured. the DIT ask for 2Tb week whit out back up, and the producer tell her she was creasy only 1 Tb, i recommend her 4Tb.

They have not even HDD. they will dont give a macpro. (either a PC)

today they call to ask me for rent HDD, they have noting for tomorrow…

its funny. the are so dumb, even whit film stock, i remember working as 2th AC giving cel number of other producers to my producer so they can by film for the next day.

and if i tell you about dailies you will laugh.

i wish to have my own cart, but the producers will want me to give that for free, they think we can do it whit a macbook 13´´

maby its a featured film for youtube but they did not tell the camera crew

well, that is exactly what they shot the first day.
even whit that info they are not redy. its a shame.

we have 2 codex and 2 Epics in my country. thats going to be a headache for us if the producers do not put attention to workflow.
i shot a featured whit codex (alexa) and was little difficult but at the end every thing was perfect. but from the begin we have had a car.

but, do you thinks its possible to do what i ask?. im sure i can do it, but not sure if is going to work.

Get an updated thunderbolt MBP and you are set. infinite expandability and all you will ever need to edit 4 streams of EPIC footage. (yes not current, but you will be able to).
