Any one know how to tighten the lens lease button?

If you are competent with a screw driver you can easily check, its not a complex item. BUT! If time is less important, of course sending the part to Red for service is the right thing to do.

You'll need a torx t6 driver and a clean place to work. The inside of the mount is greased, and should not be allowed to get dusty or dirty, or it'll need cleaning and re-greasing.

Remove the mount and flip it over. There are 4x T6 screws to remove from the PCB.

Take care as you lift off the PCB to disconnect the small ribbon cable

Now you can pry out the small black plastic filler behind the button and investigate.

The components are these:

You may find the screw has loosened from the back of the plastic button. Simply retighten.

Alternatively the metal frame may have misaligned or bent on the lens locking pin. Again, this is simple to correct.
Proper positioning is as here:

Finally, perhaps some foreign object has jammed the lens locking pin - then you need to remove the six further T6 retaining screws and split the mount in two. No tiny parts are about to spring out never to be seen again, don't worry. But do be careful of the grease.

With the halves separated, you can inspect, clean and refit the dowel and spring which the button operates, and which locks the lens rotation.

Reassembly is pretty simple - you'll need to angle the small metal frame to hook it back onto the pin.

Thx John! This will defiantly help to fix the issue.

Wow that was fascinating to see!!!! I had no idea the lens mounts were that intricate!!!!

Thanks for sharing!
