Hi, everybody, we’re getting ready to do our first feature film next week on a RED One MX and after looking over what we have to film, we’ve decided to look into acquiring a DSMC1 Epic Dragon. One of our biggest worries was having a backup camera in case anything went wrong with our RED One MX so this would make the RED One MX our backup and we also see that having a much smaller camera would be more helpful to get the shots we need in our restaurant location, and, lastly, we realized that our production was a prime example for a simultaneous A-Cam/B-Cam filming style which would speed everything up for us. Over time we’ve acquired bits and pieces for a DSMC1 camera in the mix as we built up 1.8” drives and other spare parts for our RED One, so a DSMC1 model makes the most sense since we have 1.8” drives, in particular, and a matching Allstar Mount ready to go. Our only problem is budget so buying some $20,000+ package isn’t an option. So, we wanted to reach out to our fellow REDUsers to see if anybody could help us out. We know things are in a bit of a flux with the new DSMC2 camera lineup but if anyone were willing to let an Epic Dragon go for a helpful price, we would be in absolute awe and appreciation! At minimum, all we need is a body, 1.8” SSD module, and maybe an AC adapter if one is handy. Whether we get any notices or none, we understand.
