hi guys i’m new to this forum.

i’ve been an avid fan of red since 2004. i was in 6th grade and it was our first time at the computer lab and we had access to the internet.
i couldn’t think of anything to search and the first thing i did was type in red.com into the explorer.
that was my first time discovering red. i was amazed. i had an interest in video and stuff at the time but ended up pursuing photography much more long term.
fast forward 20 years and i finally have achieved the prestigious title of being a red camera owner!

i bought a scarlet x on a whim.

when i got it i plugged it in and immediately had a few problems.
for starters the dc in sparked when i plugged in the power. i’m not sure if i fried anything inside the camer but after that i couldn’t get it to power up.

i couldn’t be patient so i tore into the camera.
i found a capacitor on the ribbon assembly of the dc in which broken its soldering. i had that re-soldered. still no power up.

i’ve ordered a few red mag batteries in hopes that i can achieve power up from the handle battery.

also when i pulled open the camera i found a torn ribbon and a missing curcuit. i’m hoping i can source this piece from a fellow scarlet enthusiast genius who has spare parts.
attached i’ve included some pictures.
i’ve been trying to upload a video to youtube but it’s been taking its sweet time.

There is a guy called something like CG Wilson, who at least until recently, was servicing Red DSMC1. Good luck.
