Looking for 4K Dragon Footage

Hello all,

Our facility is looking to make the jump into Dragon land but before we get our cameras I wanted to run some tests with our pipeline. I've searched around the web for some 4K Dragon R3D's but all I can find are 6K files. Since we are only planning on shooting in 4K (for now) I would love to run some tests that would more closely replicate our workflow. If anyone wouldn't mind sharing a shot or directing me to where one could be found it would be a HUGE help.

Hi Thomas,

I don't think you'll be able to find any footage in 4k as of right now, since it won't make much sense for a Dragon user to shoot in that format.

If you want, tho I can make a couple of shots in 4k for you and upload them on dropbox/google drive

What kind of shots are you looking for?

By the way, if you are getting the Dragon my suggestion is, always shoot in 6k and then crop to 4k, it'll look much better!


On a side note, what are you planning to shoot with the Dragon? Just out of curiosity, because it's giving me big headaches with low light situations!

Thomas, you don't really want to shoot project in 4k. It crops the sensor, and makes even wide aneles in telephoto lenses. You'd be better off with a MX or Scarlet.

I just dont get it.If aimed product is 4K why not buy a 4K camera? shooting 4K with 6K Dragon camera is not effective at all.

You're best to think of 6K as super-sampled 4K.
You just scale it down to 4K in post.

Its kinda like how photos look better when you shrink them.
