So Newsshooter did a review on the Kipon PL to PL Focal Reducer:
https://www.newsshooter.com/2024/10/21/kipon-pl-pl-0-7x-focal-reducer-review/
Sounds like it does a great job! The most exciting aspect is the ability to switch to Sony E mount and other mounts which effectively turns a S35 PL camera into a FF35 mirrorless camera! Of course, like many speedbooster options, wide open image quality drops a little despite giving an extra stop but knowing you have to stop down a little should balance everything out. The exciting camera combinations this opens up can really change the game for a production and the thought of using it even on our old RED One MX sounds like a blast! Of course, I am eager to see if this might allow stacking a Kipon Mamiya 645 speedbooster on top to get a double boost for medium format options. The only sticking point is the price at $5,480, so it definitely would be an investment piece for sure.
Any lenses and camera combinations you would be excited to use if given this as an option?
