Hi all,

I have been a Red Epic Dragon owner for a couple years now. But I've never used one other than the one I own. I'm currently renting one as a B Cam for a shoot and have noticed the kelvin and tint settings appear to show VERY different color between the two cameras. Like, to get the same color visually, one camera might be at 5600 and the other at 8900. The same thing goes for tint.

I'm contemplating doing a "camera wipe" on the rental but if there's a easier/better solution I'd much rather do that.

Any thoughts?

Someone had the wrong Olpf setting, hope it's not you

You probably already tested this, but just in case, make sure it is not your monitors that are just calibrated differently. And yes, OLPF settings will want to filter colors differently.

You know, I think the OLPF setting actually fixed it. The two cameras still don't look exact, but they're now very close.

The funny thing is that I checked that and toggled through a few of the options before posting this thread...but I failed to check "skin tone highlight". I was beginning to think the rental was just broken.

Thanks guys! You might have just saved me from resetting the camera. I'll follow up if I continue to see major color differences.

If your camera does not allow you to change the OLPF settings, it is most likely a Epic MX camera. You may be mixing MX and Dragon, which would have very different looks.

In our Epic Dragon it wasn't possible to change the OLPF settings until we upgraded to swappable OLPF system. Newer Epic Dragon bodies of course have the swappable system already installed.
